Tracy Lynn Curry (born June 10, 1968), primarily known by his stage name The D.O.C., is an American rapper from Dallas, Texas. In addition to a solo career, he was a member of the hip hop group Fila Fresh Crew, and a creative force behind the gangsta rap group N.W.A, where he co-wrote many of their releases. After Fila Fresh Crew split up in 1988, The D.O.C. went on to pursue a successful solo career. In 1989, he released his debut album, No One Can Do It Better, which reached number-one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for two weeks and spawned two number one hits on the Hot Rap Songs chart: "It's Funky Enough" and "The D.O.C. & The Doctor". The album went platinum five years after its release. Months after the release of No One Can Do It Better, The D.O.C. almost died when a car accident resulted in crushing his larynx, permanently changing his voice.

Colossal Beats: World Class by World Class Wrecking Cru (1985)

World Class Wreckin' Cru debuted in a club owned by one of the early West Coast DJs, Alonzo Williams. Before he opened "Eve After Dark" in 1979, Alonzo transformed from poplocking to DJ dances under the name of Disco Construction, which name is a influence from the funk group Brass Construction. Seeing the popularity of this new craze, he entered the market of running nightclub performances. The club opened with Detroit-born Andre Manuel aka Unknown DJ directing the music program whose main influence derived from an east coast flavour, Soulsonic Force, Orbit and Scorpio.

As the ‘80s arrived, so did electronic funk, sampling drum beats fused with old school rap format. Disco Construction changed its name into the Wreckin Cru. Lonzo hired local DJs Antoine "Yella" Carraby and Andre "Dr. Dre" Young who were DJs on KDAY. This period would also create history as Dre and Yella would cross paths with a teenage performing group called CIA (Cru' In Action) starring O'Shea "Ice Cube" Jackson, Dre’s cousin Tony ‘Sir Jinx’ Wheatob and Darrell ‘K-Dee’ Johnson who caught the attention of regular patron, local drug dealer Eric ‘Eazy-E’ Wright who was looking to capitalize on this new fad and turn his business legal.

Before this eventuated World Class were almost the sole performers in the club, managed by Alonzo who smooth-talked his way into obtaining a record deal from CBS Records for the group and was using money generated from sales to build an inexpensive four-track recording studio at the back of the club to cut records for his acts. With the rapping of another local talent, Cli-N-Tel he opened his own label under Macola Records called Kru-Cut Records and their first recorded singles were "Surgery" and "Juice".

By 1984, both cuts had become electro-rap favourites in the west coast club circuit and sold many copies across the coast. That same year during the Olympics the Wreckin Cru added the World Class into their name.

After Apocalypse

In 1974, Gilbert Deflez, who officiates as a karate coach, but who is better known as a science fiction writer, radio host, story teller and voice actor for his weekly radio show on Europe 1, as he decides that his only novel Je Suis Vivant Mais J'ai Peur ("I'm alive but I'm scared") needs a soundtrack, invites Jacky Chalard, the ex-bassist of the parisian prog-rock band Dynastie Crisis, to conceive the music.

The result is this surrealist cosmic concept album, which cover pretty much says it all : imagine Vangelis' 1971 The Dragon flying over La Planète Sauvage with a Roland Jupiter-8 synth, a Bentley Rythm Ace, and an unthinkable amount of grass. Absolutely delirious Lovecraftian texts, freakish fables obviously written on drugs, spacey synth prog atmospherics, definitely non-euclidean geometrization of affects... this is the kind of typically french psychedelia you'll find in this LP (which aslo contains the track Corto Maltese, immediately branded as 'Exotica Weirdness' epitome, and the utterly massive hit Super Man, Super Cool) :

MMXII (via deadness)

The winter solstice of 2012 will occur at 11:11 GMT on December 21st 2012, the same day the Mayan Long Count Calender flips over or "ends" as some say. On that morning the sun will appear to rise into the area of the sky we refer to as the galactic center or nuclear bulge. It is the location of the super-massive black hole at the center of the rotation of the the Milky Way galaxy. The sun's position in the sky on this day will also be perceptively aligned with the "Dark Rift" (the dark band that to the eye seems to divide the bright band of the Milky Way galaxy). Additionally on this day, Jupiter and Saturn will be involved in an astrological formation known as a Yod (finger of God.) With the combination of all these celestial events, the "stars will be right" and Cthulhu will begin to awaken.

At the proper time,"the secret priests would take great Cthulhu from his tomb to revive His subjects and resume his rule of earth....Then mankind would have become as the Great Old Ones; free and wild and beyond good and evil, with laws and morals thrown aside and all men shouting and killing and revelling in joy. Then the liberated Old Ones would teach them new ways to shout and kill and revel and enjoy themselves, and all the earth would flame with a holocaust of ecstasy and freedom"

In 1997 (15 years in advance to 2012) a "bloop" was heard in the southern Pacific Ocean within a 500 mile proximity of the supposed location of Cthulhu's sunken tomb-city known as R'lyeh located at 47°9′S 126°43′W. This "bloop" was louder than any known animal noise (even whales) and suggested to possibly be from a gigantic cephalopod.

Cthulhu's appearance has been said to be of a gigantic cephalopod with a body like a man's and bat-like wings. "a monster of vaguely anthropoid outline, but with an octopus-like head whose face was a mass of feelers, a scaly, rubbery-looking body, prodigious claws on hind and fore feet, and long, narrow wings behind"

Cthulhu rises in 2012.
